Hello, Furry and Not So Furry friends! :)

Well, the 4th April was my 2nd Barkday. Yeah, it was ages ago, and' because of my groovy hooman, I'm posting this late about that epic event. My hooman has been seriously neglecting my blog and I am really mad with her. So, I've decided to eat another wall... cof cof cof... I mean.... cof cof... make another artistic sculpture. But this is another story.

Anyway, she claims she's been really busy and she's having problems in downloading my photos here at Blogger too, but I don't believe her. Ohhhhh, I've had loads of fun in my Barkday.

And to proove it, check out some photos!

I couldn't believe it was my birthday... We went to the Park for some foollin'-around-with-my-tennis-ball play.

... and then I got to play a lot with one of my favourite toys: rocks.

This is Balu, one of my best friends. We met at the Park and we had some play time.

... well, I kind'a started getting hungry with all the fun and play...

And then, in the afternoon... beach time!

Well, I must say, I had loads of fun.
I'm so sorry I haven't been able to visit your blogs these days... I'll visit you as soon as I can, ok?

Aloha everyPup and everyHooman! Are you all ok?

Yes, yes, I know, I've been away. Of course it's my hoomans fault, no doubt about it. Given that they're always excusing their absence with that-horrible-thing-called-work, I've decided to put my paws into the matter. The thing is that I realized that it's amazingly hard to use a computer when you have furry paws like I do. Computers are not dog things... plus, I can't catch it with my mouth! What good is a computer if you can't retrieve it?!

Well, anyway, I've been having my fun. We've been having a rough winter around here, so, I got used to sleep with a little doggie blanket. When I was a pup I used to eat them, but now it feels good and confy, so... :)

The weather isn't helping and we've been failing to get The Golden Gang together again.

Somehow, with my cute face - that I've learned to intensify in the weekends - I've been managing to convince my hoomans to take me to the beach. I love to swim and play in the ocean (even in Winter), but I hate the bath part afterwards. I'm so sorry that I don't have any good picture of us at the beach, but here's what my groovy hoomans got before it started to rain (again)...

I have a new friend! His name is Balu and he is a 9 month old black Labrador. I just love to play with him in the garden in front of my house. We look like two retrieving maniacs. Balu is a great jumper! I always end up completely pooped out when I play with him. Here's a photo for you to meet him... it's not a good one. With cute dogs like us, don't you think hoomans around us always should carry magnificent cameras instead of blurry phones?? :)

Well, after all this, I have to ask you everypuppy for some advice.

The thing is that I think my hoomans are going mad! here's the thing: they are convinced that I can't jump to the trunk of one of our cars (the one I usually travel in). They always carried me when I was a pup, so I kinda got used NOT TO jump. So, now it seems like I am incapable of doing it. The car is not that high... They've tried everything: treats, jumping in to see if I follow them, making me leap after running towards the car... nothing seems to work. Well, I'm pretty heavy now and they have to put my front paws first and then pull my back paws in... they're afraid that won't be good for my legs! Any help, people? Any advices?

I'll start posting more often from now on (and with nice pictures)!

PS: I'm so sorry Carla forgot to put my pictures in this post... Is there any obedience school where we can train our hoomans?!

Dear friends... it has been ages since my last post!

I'm soooo sorry for not being able to catch up, as much as I wanted, with all your news and adventures. I will do my best to restore my blogging activity! :)

Today it's John's birthday and, because he's been assigned to a mission abroad, he is not home.

I'm so sorry for my absence... You already know the reason: yeap, my hooman's stupid work. I keep barking them that I want to know that work person, 'cause I really have a few things to bark at him/her.

Well, anyway, here I am to tell you a bit about my everyday-afternoon-walks in my neighborhood garden. This is one of my favourite places in the world, 'cause I always go there to play with my hoomans.

There's a place there where there are lots of little stones and I always go there and steal some to play... :) I love rocks. Rocks rock (BOL)! :)

Wow, I have to catch up! Let's see...

I've been tagged to the same game by boootiful Honey and by (my) Hero :). Well, the rules are a bit different, but the main ones are:

- Open the folder that contains Pet photos or the 6th photo of the 6th folder

Well, I chose the 6th of the 6th, 'cause I don't exactly have a Pet Photos folder... Actually, our computers in the house are completely full of Pipa's photos... BOL.
Here it goes:

The story of this picture? It's just me being happy at the beach. Water, a ball to retrieve, what can I say... this was taken last winter, I posted a few pictures about it. :)

I've been away for a while, I lost myself a bit with the tagging games and with who-played-what, so.... I'm tagging everyone who never played this funny game before and wants to do it!

And I'm doing the same with my next game! Thanks to Michelle and Titus, her bootiful current foster, at Dog By Nature for giving us the Honest Scrap award! So, if anyone want to play this game, consider yourselves tagged! :)

5 things about me:

- EVERY SINGLE TIME my hoomans (or any visit) arrive at the house, I have this funny ritual, like I said above: I start waging my tail, I grab something in my mouth and I start making funny noises, moaning of joy! It's really funny.

- I simply love the water, I'm the true beach babe. I even jump over the waves to get in! :)

- If I want to chew something, I have to do it OVER my hoomans feet.

- I get crazy around other dogs, 'cause I'm always in the mood to play, but around kids and babies I sit really still and I just love when they pet me.

- This one is very unusual: sometimes, in my last walk of the day, if I'm sleepy when my hoomans grab the harness and leash... I just lay down on the ground and don't move an inch. So, there they are, door open to go out, "C'mon Pipa, let's go, let's go for a walk, c'mon", and there I am, head down on the floor, pretending I'm not listening at all... :)

5 things about Carla

- She loves to swim.

- She loves to talk (sometimes, I even fall asleep).

- She loves babies.

- Sometimes she falls asleep petting me.

- She ALWAYS sings in the shower, it's irritating. So sometimes she sings and I moan. BOL

Now, another HGP (Hoomans Grooviness Proof). It's against Carla, as usual, and her annoying habit of taking pictures of me all the time.

When she gave me this green toy (she's always buying me toYs) - it's a retrieving toy for the beach - the first thing I did was snif it a bit. Then, I started my "new toy/sock/thing to grab" routine: waging my tail, making funny noises and walking aroun my hoomans. And then, 3 minutes later or so (not more) I just laid down with my new toy like this, preparing myself for a nap. I just don't understand what's so special about my sleeping positions.

Alooooha super-duper-friends!

First of all, I'm so sorry. Once again, due to my never-ending hoomans grooviness, I'm so late in visiting your blogs. Always that same old excuse: work. What's that work stuff, anyway? Geee. Well, I'll do my best to visit you today and tomorrow.

I spent 3 days at Algarve last weekend, with my hoomans and Carla's parents. Only 3 days, but we had so much fun at the beach!!! Check out the pics!

Hello furry and not-so-furry friends!

Did I ever tell you that we have the most amazing sunsets here in Portugal, specially during summer??? Lately I've been doing my afternoon walks in a park nearby, wich is amazing! We go there to run and to walk really fast. After my hoomans exercise, I get to do a lot of snifing and a lot of rolling in the grass. Did you know that rolling in the grass is good for your skin? You should all try it. Specially the hoomans. :)

Could we please stop this walking-running stupid activity and just roll in the grass?

This is Carla trying to convince herself that she managed to convince me to walk nicely in a leash. 10 seconds later, of course, the leash flew away from her finger, 'cause I saw a little birdie and ran away.

That's it. I'm stopping right here and I'll act depressed. It usually works.

Of course that my hoomans thought I was thirsty and they gave me water and washed my face to refresh me. Dumb hoomans.

Anyway, my depressed (and now wet) face worked (weak hoomans)!! Time to do a sniffing-patrol.

Of couurse she's still learning and she wasn't able to put music in the video. And she is still learning to cut excessively long scenes... oh, well, please understand. :)

Went to the beach, again. Yep.

And in this beach visit... well, let me confess to you, off my chest: I met a flying pup. No, not kidding. I did. Cross my paws. Everybody knows that I'm a kind of a Canine Speedy Gonzalez when I start my zooming, but this guy is way too much for me! He flies, he FLIES! Couldn't catch him. It was a frustrating sunny day to me. Here's all the proofs you'll need, with subtitles and all:

At first, we just started with the normal dog procedures.

He started showing his performance right away.

Then, he started running like an olimpic athlete... I couldn't catch him! Can you believe that?

I still can't.

I tried really harder!

...and I even thought I made it...

But in a speed movementt he just.... flew away again!

... and at the end... cof cof (I'm still a bit emotional with this)... he got a treat! He headed straight to my treats!

I'm shocked. He was the first to get MY little square pieces of nhamy cheese.

I think I'm loosing my qualities.

Honey's blog and some videos

ALOHA, super-duper-furry-and-not-so-furry-friends!
First of all, you all HAVE to go to Honey's blog! Hsin-Yi, her hooman, is posting some amazing advices for all the doggie owners! She's been helping Carla and John with... mm... cof cof... some of my... let's say... cof... less appropriate canine performances... cof cof....:) Thank you, Hsin-Yi! :)

Here are two little videos of the groovy me.

In the first one, I'm happy 'cause my hoomans are coming from their sports session, this Sunday. I always greet them with something in my mouth (hey, I'm a retriever) and moaning!

In the second one, filmed about 2 month ago, Carla's trying to irritate me while I'm trying to hunt a sock (socks always try to run away... BOL). If you look closely, you can still see the bootiful hole I made in the corner of the wall... now, my hoomans have a brand new and painted wall... humpf!

Alooooha! :)

Well, finally, my hoomans managed to declare an end to the painting-war. They won: now we have a super-red office (now they are mounting some fabulous BESTA shelves, from Ikea, in order to store their 43536373839 books... what for?? they are faraway from being clever... Isn't it better to dig holes and roll over in the mud!?) and a double coloured hallway (I'm still recovering of what they did to my Dali inspired hole in the wall).
Let me tell you something, dear friends: I hate these changes around the house. There's always something in the floor (a vacuum cleaner, a big box of books, the desk, furniture to mount, a bucket of paint... arggghhh!), not letting me shake my bum through the house.
I guess that's why I'm going through a rough fase, now. At home, I'm a sweet girl... but anytime I see another dog in my walks.... OH BOY! I go completely nuts! I jump, I try to bite my leash, I lay down in the floor, belly up (specially if my hoomans try to grab me) , rolling in the floor like a maniac, really overexcited! I think they get a bit sad with me. Then, it all passes away, and I go back to be the sweet gold ball of fur that I usually am. I guess that's because I'm a teenager.
I guess that is why Carla bought a head collar. What a stupid idea. I hate that thing. What did I do? I started using my most depressed look. Ears down and eyes up, just like BOLT (did you see this movie?! you HAVE to!). It worked. My hoomans say that it looks groovy on me, so, they are going to buy a Halti harness now. Do you know it? Do you recommend this kind of harness?? Here in Portugal we can't find the Easy Walk Harness...

Well, anyway, we found the time to go to Carla's parents house, for me to play with my best friend, Antonio, Carla's father... it's my favourite thing in the world, playing with him!

At night, John always pets my paws when he is watching TV (and if he forgets, I remind him :))

I've been crazy, as usual...

I've been sleeping a lot, watching my hoomans going from room to room in the house makes me really sleepy and tired...

And when I'm lucky enough to be offleash, i still go nuts....... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzoming!

Artistic Pipa and the painting period

Furry and not so furry friends:

As you all probably noticed, I've been away for some time. Who's fault is that!? No need to ask. This pair of groovy hoomans that I ended up with. They use a really cheap excuse not to blog. They say they have lot's of work and no time to come here and make a new post!!!! How stupid is that?! It makes me so mad, 'cause they know I really need to come here and post my adventures in the blogosphere! I don't care if they have to do that I-don't-really-know-what-it-is-thing-called-work. I tell you, every-pup, work must be a awsome and fun thing to do. That's the only way I can understand why they keep putting blogging in second place!

Well, anyway, I had to get myself occupied, right?!??! Too much time without posting and I get anxious. Yep. So, I decided to start another magnificient design masterpiece!!! This time, right in the MIDDLE of the HALLWAY HALL! Let me tell you, my hoomans don't know how lucky they are! I've managed to dig a purrrfect hole in their hallway hall. Carla almost fainted of emotion and John kept repeating "I don't believe it!". So, you can see how magnificent this masterpiece was!

This is why I don't have a clue why, a few days later, my hoomans started doing some strange things around the house: they call it painting. Lot's of new smells for me, lot's of things to grab, plastic big things on the floor... I actually couldn't believe when I looked at my hallway hole and... it was covered! There was no hole! That's exactly the same than throwing a Picasso in the garbage!!!!! They didn't even gave me time to take a picture of it, for posterity! I'm so hungry that I could eat a wall. Oh, wait, I already did it.

Now, the news: my crazy-hoomans did it again. Not being able to resist me (BOL), they got me a new bed. A puuuurfect bed, let me tell you. Tough and hand made! They got another piece of sponge and John's mother provided a hand made cover, from an old (I mean... ahem... cof... chewed) Ikea carpet. Thank you, Mimi! :)

Pipa's Birthday part II and another Golden Sunday

Well, here's part II of my Birthday weekend.
Sunday, the Golden Gang went to another trip. This time to celebrate my birthday and the 1st day Byte spent at his home.
We had sooooo much fun!
We were supposed to have found a lake to swim, but... we walked and walked and walked and ... no lake at all! This is what happens when we leave groovy-hoomans to organize these events... :)
It was a blast. A furpect blast!

Pipa's 1st BARKDAY (PART I)!

Woooowooooooooooo!

I am 1 year old! Can you believe that?!

Here's how I've spent my day until this moment (my hoomans told me there's more to come... I hope they'll oficially give me a wall to chew, oh, I'm so excited!! Having my own wall and not having to steal one of theirs!)

So... here's part of my birthday celebrations!

I was sleeping and dreaming with the beach (and Homer and Milo and Dino)

Then I woke up... mmmm... why are you looking at me like that... mmm...

Wait a minute... why are you taking me pictures so soon?! Mmmm... is something happening?

What a wonderful day!

So... if it is my Barkday... could we go to the beach?!? PAWEASEEEE?

Then...YES! We went to the beach!

Then, we had lunch at the beach (I mean, my hoomans had lunch at the beach... evil hoomans).

Then we went to school.

I don't understand why didn't we stay at the beach the rest of the weekend.

And then... at meal time... I had fishies-stars-and-flowers frosty paws! (yogurt, peanut butter, banana and honey)... *droooooooooooooling*

Look how many I got today!!! I wish it could be my Barkday EVERYDAY! :)

Tomorrow, the Golden Gang will meet again and we'll do a Birthday picnic (a lovely idea from Pu)... we will be celebrating Byte's first day at home too... so... I'll be posting soon! :)

The Birthday Situation

Well, this is a very frantic week!

(so frantic that Carla, that silly-groovy-hooman published this post... with no photos! I forgive her 'cause she gives me such yummy stuff...).

First of all, it was Antonio's Birthday (my favourite hooman) the 1st of April.

I went to his house to give him a huge lick and, of course, play with him. Sorry for the bad quality of these photos, but my groovy hoomans took them with their mobiles...

Do I REAALLY need to wish him a Happy Birthday with this cake on my head? Do I REALLY?

Tomorrow, the 4th of April, it'll be my 1st Barkday.

My groovy hoomans are going to take him to school. I tried to convince them to miss school 'cause of my birthday and all, but they are so stubborn... gosh! I barked "hey, let's miss school and chew some walls and furniture, c'mon!"... They just stood there, looking at me, with those hooman eyes... bahhh!. Cowards.

So, it seems that tomorrow we're going to the beach and to school, too. And Sunday, the Golden Gang is going to meet again, 'cause PU had this pawsome idea of going out for a picnic to celebrate my Barkday and the day that Byte came home! That's going to be a huge party!

I'll be posting photos.

PS: I'm still thinking about that love-issue I posted about.

- I've decided not to be confused about Cody-Codex. He's bootiful Chloe's boyfriend! So, we will be good friends.

Golden Sunday

I had a Golden Sunday.

At the second edition of the "Golden Gang meeting" (Byte's hooman named us the Golden Gang), my hoomans managed to go (my hoomans and their busy schedule... bah!... I told them that they only had to give me some money and I would go to our first meeting by bus or something... they refused... what a lack of confidence on me!).

Timon, Pu, Byte, Vicky and Indi, everybody was there... Our hoomans had lots of fun and us doggies... well, it was pretty much paradise for us!

Well, no more Saturdays around here, furry pups.
From today on I decided that instead of Saturdays me and my groovy hoomans are having... PIPAturdays. Yep! Know why? 'Cause Saturdays are basically all mine. All day long, me and my hoomans, hanging out, doing stuff, digging holes in the beach, going to school.
And today was one more of those happy full days!

In the morning we got up early (I mean, I woke them up early) and we head our wheels and paws to the beach. This was a new beach for me and I just LOVED it. What a wonderful place! It is called Portinho da Arrabida and my hoomans say it's one of the most beautiful places in the world (why do humans say things like that? Do they know all the places in the world?? They don't, right??? Gee.) Once I got there, I knew it was the time for me to start my treasure quest. I KNOW someday I'll find something really precious. As for today, I found a pretty rock.

My hoomans had lunch at the beach (it seamed like a juicy piece of meat, but of course I wasn't allowed to try it... how unfair is this??? I wake them up, I take them to the beach, I play with them there, I wait for them at the restaurant and what do I get?!??! Nothing. Nickles. Evil hoomans.)

Well, then we went to school. It was John's first time with me there, 'cause usually Carla attends class with me and John takes the pictures. :)

It's such a fun place. Well... I mean... sometimes it gets a bit hard for me... we have to sit, stay, sit again, heel, jump over things, turn around and then everything all over again, and more... I don't even have the time to take notes or anything... I do love the treats but it comes a time during class that I just lay down, turn my belly up and start my Pipa-strike. Yep. I do nothing at all. No sir. I just stay there, watching Carla or John getting really ashamed of what I'm doing in the middle of the class. BOL. I even think that's one of my favourite moments. :)

My (groovy) hoomans bought me bought me a bootiful toy there at the school store. It's really funny, it has lots of holes and it can be filled with treats and other toys. I hope my hoomans do that often, specially 'cause of the treats part.

Finally, I need to share something with you. Just when my hoomans thought that my artistic vein was over... I came up with this authentic masterpiece in one of the hallway walls. Isn't it absolutely gorgeous? Notice the deepness of this magnificient piece of art.

My piece of modern art is so amazingly good that my hoomans turned green with my talent. They even had difficulties in speaking for a while. I guess that's because I'm really good.

Today I come here to talk to you about my super-duper-best-friend, my passion, the man who makes me completely forget my hooomans. His name is Antonio and he is Carla's father.
He is absolutely patient with me, he plays with me, he gives me all kinds of food (when Carla's not looking, of course, I sure hope she doesn't read this), he pets me, he's always talking to me... ever since I was a little crazy pup that I just adore Antonio.
So, here's what I feel...

I'm addicted, Every-Pup-Outhere.

The beach is my thing.

Here's all the proofs you need of this emotional fact, plus all the explanation to my motivation.

1. Once I get there, I get faster than Lucky Luke, faster than the wind, faster than Carla's slow camera. And it's my job to get in the water, you see. I have to dive, fall down, rise again, shake my ears... it's kind of my beach-job-description. Just don't ask me why, I haven't come up with an intelectual answer yet. :o)

2. I'm needed at the beach. I have to take care of all those surfers who need a, let's say, beach-traffic-coordinator. That's me, Pipa-the-Baywatcher (*Baywatch soundtrack*).

3. I basically need to dig holes (I've already told you about my hope to find a treasure, like a giant bone or a box of white napkins or socks) and I need to scrach my back properly. Everybody knows that the only place in the world where a happy dog can scrach his back is at the beach, 'cause of those... mmm.... medical-psichological-philosophal properties of the fresh sand (cof cof cof).

4. I need to make friends. Lot's of friends.

Do you every-pup understand this addiction? I bet you do. I really bet you do. ;º

Aloha dear friends! I'm back!
I'm so sorry I've been away for this long... my hoomans have been really busy at work, so... at doggie school they don't really teach us how to blog, so... BOL.
Well, let's see. I've been doing some blogs checkout today and tomorrow. And I'll be posting about my latest adventures.
Let's see, I have a quest to answer, 'cause I've been tagged a long time ago by my dear friends Paco and Milo. It is called the Fifth Photo tag and these are the rules:

Here's what I came upon.

I was 10 month old and this is one of my favourite spots to play at the house. A child, you see. Far faraway from the absolutely groovy teenage-frolicker I came around to be. In the other hand, at this time I could pee and poop at the house, and that was so much confortable. Well, I guess that responsability and sacrifice cames with age. :)

Later on (I've been such along time away that I lost track of things!) my dear Homer was a sweetie (as always) and gave me the Honest Weblog Award (oohhhh... it sounds scary!).

Here we go, 10 honest things about me:

1. I'm basically like Homer. I'm immoral with food. I'll do anything for food: sit, stay, stand, down, run, came here, vacuum, go shopping groceries, learn to drive... If my crazy hoomans tell me something to do without any food in their hands... naaa... I don't really think so.
2. I just love bananas and apples. It's my desert after dinner, everyday. I may be sleeping or doing my business, but whenever I hear that magic sound of the knife cutting the apple...... My heart starts beating and I start drooooling.
3. I'm not scared of the vacuum cleaner at all, but I'm still scared of John's car. My first trip to Lisbon, when I was 8 weeks old, was tough for me, 'cause I was really scared.
4. I greet averyone with thing on my mouth. Anything, anyone. Once I see someone who looks like willing to pet me, I imediately try to grab something. If there's nothing around, I just grab the trousers, skirt or sweater of that specific human.
5. I'm a happy dog at the beach, running around in the sand and jumping to the water.

6. Since I'm a little puppy that I lay down with my back legs like in the photo above.

7. I love to play and know other dogs and I rarely show fear. I'm always wagging my tail!

8. I wake up E-V-E-R-Y-D-A-Y at 07:30 a.m. No exceptions.

9. There's no way that I'll be away from my humans if we're all together in our house. I'm always near them - or one of them - no matter what.

10. I love eating grass. All humans should try it, and they maybe they would understand this gourmet taste for that green dish. :)

I've been going to the beach so many times that I'm actually thinking of learning how to surf. :)
We've been having sunny days around here, so, I'm allowed to run off-leash like a sand-and-water-maniac-fool at the beach. At those times, I feel happy as a birdie in a garden (or as a golden near the water).

My not-so-puppy-anymore classes are working great. I'm actually learning how to behave. Well, ok, 3 or 4 minutes. Ok, maybe 6 or 7. Not more. We can't get our humans used to a good behaviour all the time. It is called doggie leadership. Hum hum. In my next post I'll be bringing some proof photos of my growing knowledge. :)

I was tagged by my dear Simona, Paco and Milo's Mummy!! :)

The rules are: I have to say 40 things about me and include a recent photo... oh My. Is there so much to say? LOL

These things about me are obviously not in order of importance.

Well, here it goes:

I am 32 years old.

I have a Law Master Degree (do we say it like this in english...?) and I'm in the military (Portuguese Navy). My rank is lieutenant, and I'm a Law consultant.

My husband is in the navy too, he's a captain in the portuguese Marine Corps. Here in Portugal it is called Fuzileiros. He is 33 years old. He is the funniest person I know and... I love him deeply (he deals so perfectly with my bad temper... :):):))

My parents are my heroes.

My granny lived with me and my parents since I was 2 years old. She died 2 years and a half ago and it was the most painful moment of my life. I miss her and her tenderness very much, everyday. And I know I will, for the rest of my life. I love you, abuelita!

Pipa's with us since she was 8 weeks old, she's from the north of Portugal (a beautiful town called Felgueiras). We live near Lisbon, in the other side of the Tagus River.

I'm absolutely crazy about swimming and I entered competitions before and during university.

Then, I started running out of time to do it as often as I wanted. Anyway, I try to keep on swimming in a weekly base.

I love sports and I try to workout everyday.

I discovered the doggie blogosphere troughout Dino and then Homer... and then I met Paco and Milo and Spencer and Honey and Cody, Zena and Lady ... and I fell in love with this magic way of knowing other dog owners who love their furry friends as much as we do! It keeps my soul warm coming here and reading all of your stories... it's great.

Pipa is like a therapy to me... she show us an inconditional way of giving and loving and we keep learning with her everyday.

I talk and laugh a lot. I'm a bit crazy, actually.

I do love going to work everyday. And because me and John are both in the Navy, we actually enjoy talking about our works, everyday. :)

I love writing and reading. I'm a poetry fanatic and a devoted fan of the power of words (although I've been having some dificulties in writing in english, here... bloging is a good way of training, though!).

14.

I'm absolutely crazy about dolphins and mermaids. I must have been a dolphin or a mermaid in another life :). I swam with dolphins twice: one in Zoomarine, here in Portugal, the other one in XCaret Park, in Riviera Maya, Mexico. I feel a strange tenderness and empathy for them... it's an intense emotion that I can't explain. As for mermaids, I'm always looking for mermaid art in the Web... We bought our house 4 years ago and I still don't have any paintings in my room... and that's because I'm still looking for that beautiful painting with a mermaid! :)

I love dancing. Any kind of music.

I've been to Flamenco classes for a while, and Sevilhanas too. Flamenco culture touches my heart and soul, and I don't miss a Flamenco dance show here in Portugal. My last one was Joaquin Cortez. I listen to Flamenco music almost everyday. My entire family comes from Barrancos, a little town near Andaluzia, that absorbed almost everything from the andaluzian culture and habits.

I have one tattoo.

I believe friends are one of the best things in the world.

I love fight sports and I've been to kickboxing classes too. It's awsome. It's a great way of leaving stress behind!

I love going to the cinema to watch kid's movies... :)... I just crack myself laughing with Shreck, Madagascar and Happy Feet.

I simply a-d-o-r-e kids.

I love the beach. Since I have Pipa, I love it even more.

I listen to any kind of music. I love jazz, blues, hip-hop, R&B, soul, pop and disco music, classic, lounge... of course, flamenco... I'm an easy listener.

I love photografy and I wish I could learn professional photography.

Blue (specially turquoise) and orange are my favourite colours.

I love shopping :). I love clothes but I'm not a fashion victim. Actually, jeans are one of my favourite things.

Beach afternoon

Hi furry friends!
My hoomans were at home last week, in a short week vacation.
So, I got to go to one of my favourite places: the beach. This day was the only single day it didn't rain... the weather around here has been really boring, between the rain and some wind. But Wednesday the sun started to take a peek, and so... off we went!
I just love the sand, the water (actually this time it scared me a bit, 'cause the waves were really big!), and of course... running around and digging holes in the sand! What a joy!

Could you please hurry up?? Hum? I'm to anxious to wait!
(What's with these hoomans and this clothes-to-go-out and clothes-to-be-at-home stuff? Having fur is so much inteligent... gee.)

Jogging

This Saturday I went jogging. Yep. It's like a sports-spa, to me.
I basically go with my hoomans to a nearby sports park, they put me off-leash and I just start frolicking around. I take this training very seriously. Sometimes my hoomans start training too, but they soon give up, 'cause they always have to stop their training and come and catch me, 'cause I always end up in some muddy place... BOL.

At the end of my training-like-a-crazy-dog, I took some time to rest during a quick photo shoot (i'm kind'a famous, in my hoomans perspective).

When I arrived home, another great moment (I usually have two of these a day): my meal. Yummy meat squares, yummy rice with cabbage and carrots, and kibbles. Oh My.

I was so tired after dinner, that I fell asleep over the living room table... what a day!

Well, dear friends, here's the usual in my day-to-day routine:

Remember my new bed, that beautiful one that I posted about few days ago?

Here's what I managed to do in this very creative afternoon. I have to say: I'm an artist.

Of course that my hoomans did not understand the perfection of my masterwork. First, they were furious, now I think they're sad... finnaly, I realized that I became bedless again. Geeee... can i still say "it wasn't me!", like dear Addie? Nope. Too late.

I guess I'll have to apologise... (I wonder where will I sleep tonight... glup).

First Class at Doggie School

Well, here's a great way of starting a New Year... at school! :)

Everypup, I had such a greeeat time there. I made so many doggie friends!

This is Atila, an argentine dogo, and Fritz-the-Rottie (one of my best friends, it's Sonia's pup, we're in the same class!).

This is Luna, a lovely great dane (like bootiful Honey)!

This is me, Atila and Luna frolicking around before our class.

After the socialization part, we started the class.

I basically wanted to play with every pup and with every human, it wasn't easy for Carla... but we both loved the class. John had a mission: getting some pics of us. But it wasn't easy either 'cause we were always on the move! I was sooooooo tired at the end... I slept like an angel!

Well, 2009 is getting closer!!
Well, my hoomans have lot's of new photos of me, but Carla forgot the cable to conect the camera at the computer at work!! Dahhhhh! So, I guess there are no actual photos of me in this post!
Anyway, I'm posting a photo of me when I was aproximately 9 weeks, few days after I came to my new house. I guess I changed my hoomans life, by changing their routines and a bit of the way they comprehend life... :)
I wish all my friends - furry and not so furry :) - a pawtastic 2009, healthy, peaceful and with lot's of love and friends! May all your wishes come true in this New Year!!!!

New Bed!

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!

I have a new amazing, booootiful and soooooooooooooooooooooo confy bed!

I'm a bed destroyer. I had one cozy bed from Ikea, but the third day that I was left with it all alone in the house all day I.... ate it. Shlép. So, I was "bedless" for some time, sleeping in an old carpet and blanket. But my hooomans couldn't resist and Carla came up with a great idea (rarely happens): she got a nice, tall and big piece of sponge (thank you Mr. Antonio, Sonia's Dad), she bought some fabric at IKEA and she asked dear Miss Elisa to make a cover for the bed. Miss Elisa, as usual, made a great work and now I have this nice and colourful cozy bed! It was love at first sight: Carla brougth it, i tried it and now... it's my favourite thing in the house! And I'm allowed to keep it with me when my hooomans leave, 'cause I like it sooooo much that I actually use it to sleep and rest!!!

Hi, furry friends! Here I am, almost fresh and new. Phewwww! It was tough, though... Poor hoomans... they were almost driving crazy with so much preocupation. I started having fever, even when the dhiarrea episodes stoped, my mouth was continuously dry... and I started having locomotion problems. It seems that the progress of the infection was making me more and more weak. My hoomans thought it could be something related with my bones! Well, they called my vet's number for emergency and they asked the vet to see me yesterday. He run some blood tests, told them I have pancreatitis and prescribed me an antibiotic and a diet. So, here I am, getting better each day. Thank you all for your concern and tender messages!
For all my friends information about pancreatitis in dogs, you can read this, this, this and this. Mine was caused by a bacteria (careful with those things you try to eat in your walks!), but we have to be careful with the amount of fat in our food and treats!

Well, I have lots of posting to do, but I have to start with this one, it means a lot to me. I received my firts bloggie-friend postcard! My sweet HOMER sent it to me. I was soooo happy (Carla went a bit nutsy, but that's okay... as long as she realizes it is MY postcard, not hers!).

Hi there, my dear dear friends!

Carla's posting here... 'cause our lovely and energetic Pipa has pancreatitis. She started by having dhiarrea, then she became really quiet, not interacting with us at all... lack of apetite, not wanting to play... when she started having problems in walking, we became really really worried... we thought of Joey (how are you, Joey?) and we decided to take her to the vet emergency today. It's a pancreatitis. She's now on antibiotics and diet.
It's just so hard to see her so down, with those sad eyes... :(
But now we know she'll get better.
So, she'll be back, as she promised, real soon, okay? I know she misses you and your stories!

Hi there my furry friends!
I'm so sorry I've been away for sooo looong... I missed you, bloggie-pups!
My groovy humans have been having lots of work and problems with their camera... so, today, I'm so thrilled I can blog again with some PIPAnews! :)
First of all, I'd like to thank my friends who presented me with awsome awards. They are on my list, above, at the right. My Dog, I get so proud each time a doggie-blogger-friend thinks of me!
Let me see, now, more relevant news... oh, yeeeep, I'm finally going to school. My humans want me to have a canine MBA (BOL), but I really think they're expecting to much... They're attending the owners classes now, and I'll be starting my practice next month. I'm really thrilled, 'cause they told me that there will be lots of doggies there! A Great Dane (like my dear Honey), 2 german shepards, 2 rotweillers, a portuguese Serra da Estrela (lovely), a bull terrier, a staffordshire terrier and more!... MY DOG, it'll be PAWSOME! :) At the meantime, I go along alternating a very good behaviour in the house (chewing things now and then) and a bad behaviour in my walks (when I see other dogs, mainly... or when I see something at the floor that looks tasty, wich is e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g). Oh, well, it's a teenage doggie behaviour, I guess.
I've been checking out all those wonderful doggie-bloggies, now and then! I know that Dr. Dino is on the house again (BOL), Honey is staying in New Zealand, Homie is loving the Netherlands, Paco and Milo are real beach surfers, Addie had a play date, Joy(ce) is growing bigger and cuter, Codex is getting taller, Brandy's learning to type, Cocoa and Barley are still soooo humorous, Amber's preparing for Christmas, Timon goes on chewing out the house, Augie and Ty are two famous pups, Thor has been playing with his sisters, Imperor Byte loves the grass like me, Spencer felt the earth moving.... everytime I check out all your news I find myself smiling with my goofy golden smile... :)

Olá, olá, queridos amiguinhos da floresta!
Pois é, tenho blogado pouco porque isto tem sido uma adrenalina pegada... Deu aos meus donos a fúria dos passeios e vai daí a minha vida social cresceu em flecha! :)

A reportagem fotográfica que ora vos trago foi um passeio de Domingo a uma espécie de parque desportivo, onde descobri variadíssimas coisas, a saber:

LESSON 1

Em parques desportivos temos de correr como se não houvesse amanhã.

U have to run like a crazy dog in a sports park, like if there was no tomorow.

LESSON 2

Em parques desportivos, é imperativo apanhar coisas do chão (qualquer tipo de coisa) e depois verificar com cuidado se é comestível (tudo é).
In a sports park, a dog has to go and grab whatever lies in the ground... and then, really carefuly, verify if it's eatable (everything is).

LESSON 3

Temos de fazer buracos de forma desesperada e depois escondemo-nos lá dentro, para termos abrigo acaso haja um ataque extraterrestre.

We have to dig holes like crazy and then hide, just in case there is an alien attack coming.

LESSON 4

Temos de treinar um bocadito, para os donos ficarem contentes e ficarem mais um bocadinho (não sei se já reparararm, mas os donos são, por definição, pessoas chatas).

We must train a bit, justo to make our humans happy enough to stay another hour there... eh eh eh.

LESSON 5

Devemos tomar atenção a tudo, para não sermos apanhados desprevenidos em nada.

We must pay attention to e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g.

LESSON 6

Devemos, numa perspectiva pedagógica e formativa, ensinar ás crianças os nossos vastos conhecimentos de futebol.

We must pass on to the children our deep knowledge about soccer.

Se fizermos alguma coisa de mal, devemos aproveitar a vegetação e escondermo-nos atrás de uma coisa qualquer. Nunca te deixes apanhar!

Olá, olá.... Auuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuf!
Sim, sim, voltei. Vocês desculpem, mas tenho andado cansadíssima de tanta actividade canina. Ele é passeios a toda a hora por causa dos xixs e cócós (deve ser uma humano-mania), ele é visitas a casa dos pais da Pastor-Alemão e da Luna (serão brevemente documentadas), ele é idas a jardins e campos desportivos (sim, sim, vou fazer um post sobre isso), enfim... uma vida social intensíssima e muito fértil.

Eu continuo a portar-me lindamente em casa. Na rua fico completamente esgroviada... já ando mais calmamente, já reajo muito bem à trela e vou sossegadinha ao lado dos donos, mas se avisto um cão ao longe (ou um pássaro... ou um bocado de papel... ou uma pedrinha a rolar no chão... ou um caixote do lixo...)... desnorteio imediatamente. E continuo, descontroladamente, a abocanhar tudo o que aparece no chão, o que já me valeu, aqui e ali, umas palmaditas no rabo.

Entretanto, já ouvi lá por casa que daqui a um mês, mais coisa menos coisa, vou para uma escolinha de cães (as coisas que este pessoal inventa...). Por acaso, estou curiosa e ansiosa... é que devem haver lá imenos cães, certo??????? B-R-I-N-C-A-D-E-I-R-A! B-R-I-N-C-A-D-E-I-R-A! :)

O Libb e eu

Ainda não vos tinha falado do meu vizinho Libb.

O Libb é um Basenji com 8 meses que vive ao pé de mim. É lindo de morrer e foi o primeiro cachorro com quem brinquei. Ficámos muito amigos desde então e cada vez que nos encontramos no jardim é uma festarola valente. É uma festa valente para todos: (1) para mim e para o Libb, que corremos que nem uns doidos, chocamos um contra o outro de propósito num bailarico canino muito Gulbenkian, eu mordo-lhe as orelhas, ele morde-me as patas... (2) para os meus donos, que não me podem soltar da trela porque senão eu fujo e vou direitinha para a poça de lama, e como tal têm de andar atrás de mim e do Libb, a desenrolar-nos as patas de 2 em 2 segundos, porque ficamos completamente enrolados um no outro e na trela e nos pés dos meus donos... enfim, é uma espécie de circo, sendo que os palhacinhos são, decidimente, a Pastor-Alemão e o Grand-Danois. É bem feita, pela quantindade infinda de coisas que eu poderia comer do chão de cada vez que ponho as patas cá fora, e eles não me deixam.

Treino com trela

Tal como a Pipa já tinha prometido num post anterior, aqui estou eu para dizer qualquer coisinha sobre o treino com trela. Ou melhor, sobre a necessidade do mesmo...

A Pipa, pura e simplesmente, recusava-se a andar com a primeira trela curta. Prostrava-se no chão, deitada e ninguém a arrastava do sítio. Complicado, quando falamos de um cão com 8, 9, 10 semanas. Cada pequeno passeio depressa se tornava num pequeno pesadelo... ela puxava, puxava, puxava a trela e a velha técnica de parar de cada vez que isso acontecia ou seguir em sentido diferente fazia com que, ao fim de 10 minutos, já estivessem donos e cão com vontade de ir para casa.

A solução de compromisso foi arranjar uma trela-guia, de 10 metros, em nylon. São trela normalmente usadas para ensinar os cachorros a obecerem ao comando ANDA CÁ. Desviámo-nos um bocadinho desse objectivo, porque a Pipa está naquela fase de desvario-desgoverno na rua, parece que fica subitamente surda e deixa de ouvir todos os sons que eu ou o João possamos emitir. Certo é que nunca mais usámos a outra e temos conseguido dar-lhe algum espaço de manobra. Vamos ver como vai ser a (re)transição para a outra, já que ela habituou-se a andar com alguma distância de nós.

Andamos a pensar pô-la numa escola de treino, hipótese que está neste preciso momento em discussão familiar.

Desde que cá está em casa que a Pipa manteve a sua forma de descansar e de dormir muito peculiar.

Fica com as patas de trás todas espalmadas contra o chão e dobra as da frente para dentro, tal qual um frango assado! :)

Como adora dormir no hall de entrada e já está muito grande, parece um tapete!

Espreitem um bocadito da continuidade evolutiva.

... aos 2 meses parecia um frango assado pequenino...

... aos 3 meses, um frango-assado-em-exposição-na-montra (aguentava-se a brincar assim que tempos, uma autêntica ginasta)...

Os meus brinquedos

Aqui há uns tempos mostrei-vos aquele que, na altura, era o meu brinquedo preferido, um osso barulhento que a Mimi me deu.
Está na hora de vos mostrar os meus outros brinquedos preferidos. Aproveito e mostro, nas fotos, o mais recente truque que a minha dona-Pastor-Alemão me ensinou: o SENTA e o FICA, mas com um brinquedo na boca.
Ora vejam:

Este é o Sr. Galo, que o Pai da dona-Pastor-Alemão me deu (eu adooooro o Pai da Pastor-Alemão, ele brinca muito comigo e deixa-me fazer muita coisa que os meus donos não deixam, inclusivé morder-lhe as orelhas).

Este é o Senhor-Congelado, porque dá para meter no frigorífico... fica gelado e é um espectáculo para os meus dentes! Foi a Mimi que me deu. Já viram, as coisas que inventam pró pessoal que ladra?

Este foi o brinquedo que a Marta, a dona do Amadeu, me deu quando eu cheguei de viagem.

Gosto de passear à noite (e de fazer luta livre com a trela)

Pois é.
Giro, giro, giro, giro, mas mêmo giro, é sair à noite à rua e, no final, subir para cima de um patamar de cimento que prezo muito e brincar com o meu dono, de uma forma dedicada, mas sobretudo, totalmente desgovernada.
Ando às voltas em cima do patamar, tento morder o meu dono (o Grand Danois gosta muito de me ver correr, absolutamente destrambelhada, de um lado para o outro, ri-se à brava.... não percebo porquê...), ele empurra-me, brincamos muito e depois, no fim, numa apoteose avassaladora, ele deixa-me brincar sozinha com a minha trela de 10 metros (sim, 10 metros... a Pastor-Alemão depois explica-vos, num daqueles posts entediantes sobre coisas caninas que ela costuma pôr aqui... dão-me cá um sono...).
Eu até tenho uma relação pacífica, de verdadeiro compromisso, com a trela-vermelha-dos-10-metros. É muito melhor que outra, demasiado curtinha, que os meus donos usam. Com a trela-vermelha-dos-10-metros, eu posso correr mais, andar mais e explorar mais. Não percebo porque é que não me soltam, era mais fácil... eu sei que desato a correr como se não houvesse amanhã e depois é muito difícil apanhar-me, mas booolas... correr fazia-lhes bem! De qualquer forma, eu já fico contente de ver a figura de tótós que os meus donos fazem, com uma trela de 10 metros toda enrolada na mão, e ainda por cima VERMELHA. Ehehehehehe... sobretudo quando eu me sento,levanto,corro e paro, quase tudo ao mesmo tempo e fico completamente embrulhada na trela e nos pés deles... um fartote.
Isto de ser dono não deve ser fácil. Ainda bem que eu sou o cão.

Um passeio grande no (tal) Parque

Hoje fomos dar um passeio grande no meu Parque preferido.
Que festa!
Eu estou naquela fase a que se costuma chamar a fase-do-aspirador. Apanho tudo do chão e tento comer tudo, sem grandes preocupações de exigência: erva, pedras, guardanapos, pauzinhos, bocadinhos de cimento, tudo!
Só tenho pena de andar sempre pela trela, é uma chatice. Não pude atirar-me à água e ir nadar ao pé dos patos e de um cisne lindo que por lá anda. Enfim. Não se pode ter tudo.
Quando cheguei a casa estava tão cansada que me estatelei logo no hall de entrada do prédio, para dormir.
Uma tarde em cheio! :)

É uma coisa vermelha de um formato esquisito. Os meus donos põem lá guloseimas dentro, bocadinhos de ração... às vezes, congelam lá dentro água junto comas guloseimas... depois, é suposto eu passar algum tempo a tentar tirar tudo lá de dentro. Uma festa!

Hoje foi um dia tããããooo giro!

Fui a casa da Maf. e do Alex. e fartei-me de brincar!

Persegui o Pedroco-Bazaroco, que se ria a bandeiras despregadas - e confirmei aquilo de que já desconfiava: adoro crianças. Brinquei com a Mimi, comi relva, tentei estragar as plantas e comi um bocadinho de um brinquedo do Pedroco... um fartote! :)

Já há algum tempo que andava à procura de um brinquedo muito engraçado que vi na Net, para a Pipa.

Os "amaricanos" Têm cerca de 34353637383 sites de pet supplies e em quase todos há uns brinquedos chamados KONG's (aliás, KONG é mesmo a marca, salvo erro). O conceito está engraçado: é um brinquedo de borracha muito forte, que dá para encher de guloseimas ou de uma pasta própria e que, portanto, garante ali um valente pedaço de tempo de entretenimento para o cão. Ora isto, para cães que ficam em casa o dia todo, pode significar a diferença entre o dono chegar a casa e ver qualquer coisinha destruída ou muuuuitas coisinhas destruídas.

A grande dificuldade de encomendar pela Net - e sobretudo fora da Europa - são os portes. E depois os custos de alfândega. Ainda tentei comprar o tal brinquedito num site americano, mas ia fazendo o order track e as coisas estavam sempre a ser devolvidas ao remetente... acabaram por me fazer um reembolso e nada de KONG pá Pipa.

Eis senão quando... um site português com comida e artigos para animais! E... com KONG's (quase toda a colecção) à venda! ... bolas, andei eu de um lado para o outro na Net em sites estrangeiros e o http://www.petness.pt/ mesmo aqui ao lado...

O pessoal da petness é impecável, o atendimento é super personalizado e ainda por cima podemos ir buscar a encomenda aos spotness e poupar os gastos de envio.

O melhor de tudo: os KONG são baratíssimos, comparativamente ao que já vi por aí em muita loja de animais... numa dela, vi um KONG pequeno à venda por... 20 e poucos euros! A petness.pt pratica basicamente os mesmos preços que vi em sites dos EUA. Vale a pena!!

Passeio no jardim pequenino...

Parece que agora já não é suposto fazer xixis e números 2 no jornal.

Vai daí, tenho vindo com bastante frequência a esta espécie de "mini-passeios". Há passeios maiores e mais elaborados. De manhã, vou com a Pastor-Alemão (ou é ela que vai comigo?) fazer uma caminhada aqui na zona. Ósdespois há dias em que vou para o Parque, que é enorme, tem patos e lagos e um relvado fabulástico (onde não são permitidos cães, mas até acho bem, porque há sempre lá gente a fazer uns exercícios chamados abdmoninais, que é para ficar com a barriga para dentro, ao que parece... este pessal não imagina que bom, bom, bom, é esfregar a barriga na relva acabadinha de regar...).

Bem, mas nestes passeios pequeninos há alguns momentos obrigatórios dignos de nota:

... o momento em que, ainda dentro do prédio, eu decido que não é a melhor altura para ir à rua...

... o momento em que fico nesta posição em cima do banco de jardim,
só a ver as vistas, e depois não quero sair de lá (vá-se lá saber porquê)...

... o momento em que insisto em subir (desde pequenina) para cima de tudo o quanto é murito,

degrau, declive no terreno, só pelo prazer de lá estar em cima...

... o momento em que sou apanhada com a boca cheia de relva...

...o momento em que tento com todas as forças chegar aquela pocinha de lama deliciosa que está na parte superior da foto (que já me valeu uns banhos valentes de chuveiro...mas qual é o mal de me rebolar na poça de lama, qual é o mal de comer lama, explicam-me?!?!)...

Travelling Pipa

No primeiro fim de semana fora, numa casa nova, a Pipa portou-se lindamente!

Fomos 3 dias para o Algarve, ter com os meus Pais, e estávamos com algum receio da reacção da Pipa a um ambiente totalmente novo.. e, sobretudo, com receio que lhe desse para fazer asneiras.

Nada disso.

Não foi à praia porque tivémos receio que voltasse a beber água salgada e a comer areia como se não houvesse amanhã e voltasse a ficar doente... ela vai ter de se habituar, mas a logística lá em baixo era diferente. Por isso, optámos por não levá-la. Ficou em casa sem problemas, fartou-se de brincar com os meus Pais, não destruiu absolutamente nada e portou-se muito bem nas viagens.

Nota 10 para a Pipa, no seu primeiro fim de semana fora!

Entretanto, está a aprender um novo truque, o velhinho PLAY DEAD, versão tuga: PUM PUM (e ela deita-se de patas para o ar). :)

Férias no Algarve

Enfim, não fui à praia, porque a Pastor Alemão estava morta de medo que eu ficasse... hmmm... enfim... intestinalmente desarranjada, como da última vez. Por isso, conheci uma casa nova e vinguei-me a brincar com o A. e com a S., um espectáculo!

Dei uns passeios valentes por sítios novos e tentei comer tudo o que apanhei no chão: guardanapos, pedras, relva, areia, restos de comida, papéis velhos... curto à brava ver o desespero dos meus donos. É uma espécie de :)

As viagens custam-me um bocadinho, mas até já me habituei.

Tenho pena de não ter ido à praia... mas já ouvi dizer lá por casa que vou em Agosto. A ver vamos.
